A new listing on the AMC ticketing website suggests Marvel Studios’ upcoming “The Marvels” film is the shortest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date.
The listing says the film clocks in at 105 minutes, easily beating the previous shortest film record held by “The Incredible Hulk” and “Thor: The Dark World” at 112 minutes each. The longest MCU entry to date is “Avengers: Endgame” at 181 minutes.
In fact, only seven of the thirty or so preceding Marvel films have clocked in under two hours. However there’s dispute about its accruacy as some other distributors over in the UK have posted conflicting runtimes with Odeon saying 140 minutes and Cineworld saying 120 minutes.
The film sees Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) having reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.
When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Carol’s estranged niece now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe.
Zawe Ashton, Park Seo-Joon, Randall Park and Samuel L. Jackson are among the cast for the film which opens in cinemas on November 10th.
