“Money Heist: Berlin” Sets Launch Date

Netflix

Netflix has announced a December 29th launch date for the “Berlin” spin-off of its major Spanish heist crime drama series “Money Heist” (La Casa de Papel).

In addition, they’ve released a new one-minute trailer with various footage from the upcoming eight-episode series, which follows the original five-season series that ran from 2017-2021, and the Korean remake in 2022.

“Berlin” focuses on fan favorite character Andres de Fonollosa/Berlin (Pedro Alonso), the terminally ill grand larcenist, jewel thief and cracksman who is also the older brother of the heist’s mastermind The Professor (Alvaro Morte).

Set before the events of “Money Heist,” the series focuses on Berlin in his prime as he prepares one of his most extraordinary heists in his career as a robber – stealing €44 million in jewels.

To do this, he has the help of one of the three gangs he has robbed with in his life, formed by cybersecurity mastermind Kelia (Michelle Jenner), academic Damián (Tristán Ulloa), loose cannon Cameron (Begoña Vargas), weaponry expert Bruce (Joel Sánchez) and locksmith Roi (Julio Peña Fernández).

Marcel Gonzalez and Yuri D. Brown also star. All eight episodes will be released on that date worldwide.
