Nintendo held a ‘Nintendo Direct’ presentation this morning which took a look at titles coming during the rest of the year and into the start of 2024.
There were several new announcements for titles hitting in the next six months with a ton of stuff related to the Super Mario franchise.
Multiple full remakes are on the way next year with the GameCube RPG title “Paper Mario: The 1000 Year Door,” the SNES title “Super Mario RPG,” and the GameBoy puzzle title “Mario vs. Donkey Kong” coming (the latter with local co-op). All got new trailers today.
Also revealed was “Princess Peach: Showtime” in which the character explores a theatre with her newfound companion, Stella, that has set a March 22nd release.
There’s also a proper HD remaster of “Luigi’s Mansion 2” which brings the graphics in line with “Luigi’s Mansion 3” and brings back co-op multiplayer mode.
Outside of Mario, “F-ZERO” is also coming back with the battle royale game “F-ZERO 99” whilst a new trailer was shown for the anticipated “Detective Pikachu Returns”. There was also a new trailer for Ubisoft’s “Prince of Persia – The Lost Crown” which sees the franchise return to its 2D roots. That launches on January 18th.
One real surprise is the original “Tomb Raider” trilogy is coming to the Switch with remastered visuals on February 14th. Players can toggle between the original visuals and remastered ones at any time too.
