Following the fifth episode release this week, Lucasfilm has unveiled three new character posters from “Star Wars: Ahsoka” which showcase Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker, Captain Rex, and a younger Ahsoka.
All three characters in flashback scenes to the Clone Wars in the most recent episode. Christensen undergoes some digital de-aging to appear as his twentysomething self whilst Ariana Greenblatt takes on the role of Ahsoka when she was a Padawan.
Greenblatt is thus the first actor in “Star Wars” history to play a younger version of a character in live-action that was originally introduced in animation.
“Ahsoka” is written and executive produced by Dave Filoni and though set within the same timeline as “The Mandalorian,” actually serves as a follow-up to the animated “Star Wars Rebels” series.
The show revolves around the titular Jedi (played by Rosario Dawson) on her quest across the galaxy. She investigates an emerging threat following the fall of the Empire.
Also staring are Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, David Tennant as the voice of Huyang, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn.
The show’s sixth episode will air next Tuesday.
