Miriam Margolyes To Guest On “Doctor Who”

British acting veteran Miriam Margolyes has been officially confirmed as the latest to join the cast of Russell T. Davies’ new era of “Doctor Who”.

Margolyes will lend her voice to Beep the Meep, a character adapted from The Star Beast comic strip and appears in an episode to be directed by Rachel Talalay.

In the comic, Beep’s a huge-eyed, furry and seemingly harmless mouselike creature who is actually a criminal mastermind from a defeated and violently aggressive war-like race.

Margolyes says in a statement: “I’m relieved I got to work on Doctor Who before I died. With sci-fi you never know. Thank you for making an old woman very happy.”

The character will appear in one of the the three special episodes at the end of this year which will see David Tennant take on the role of the 14th Doctor for the show’s 60th anniversary. Ncuti Gatwa will take over as the 15th Doctor in the new year.

Other notable guest stars in the upcoming specials and new season include Jonathan Groff, Indira Varma, Aneurin Barnard, Jinkx Monsoon, Millie Gibson and Yasmin Finney along with the return of Bonnie Langford as former companion Mel Bush.
