Netflix has premiered one final trailer for its animated new spin-off series “Castlevania: Nocturne” which will launch on the service on September 28th.
The series is set during the French Revolution at the end of the 18th century and follows Richter Belmont, Trevor Belmont’s descendent, on a dangerous adventure. Further plot specifics are under wraps for now.
The project serves as a follow-up to the celebrated Konami video game franchise turned acclaimed four-season long Netflix animated series. Vampires and monsters also come into play.
Clive Bradley created and pens the series, whilst Kevin Kolde will serve as the showrunner. Project 51 Productions and Powerhouse Animation are behind the series, which Sam and Adam Deats direct.
The voice cast includes Richard Armitage and Graham McTavish, reprising their Trevor Belmont and Dracula roles respectively. Emily Swallow, James Callis, Tony Amendola, Alejandra Reynoso, Shin’ichiro Miki, Naoya Uchida, Ryôtarô Okiayu and Ayaka Shimoyamada also star.
1993’s “Castlevania: Rondo of Blood” and 1997’s “Castlevania: Symphony of the Night” will serve as the core source material for the series.
