Following a brief tease back in July, Toho has now officially released the first full trailer for “Godzilla Minus One”. The project marks the newest period live-action “Godzilla” movie.

The story unfolds in an already devastated post-war Japan where the kaiju goes on a rampage, but further plot specifics are under wraps.

Takashi Yamazaki, who handled the visual effects on 2016’s “Shin Godzilla,” returns to write and direct this outing which marks the second of the live-action Reiwa era “Godzilla” films following that 2016 entry.

Three animated films for Netflix were also released as a part of that era. “Godzilla Minus One” is set to premiere in Japan on November 3rd and will get a U.S. theatrical release on December 1st.

The new film also comes ahead of Legendary’s upcoming “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” which is scheduled to arrive in cinemas in May next year.

Apple TV+ and Legendary are also developing a live-action series adaptation of “Godzilla and the Titans,” which will also be set within the world of Legendary’s MonsterVerse.

“WandaVision” director Matt Shakman helms the first two episodes of the show starring Wyatt Russell, Kurt Russell and Kiersey Clemons.
