Netflix Delays Six Of Its Movies To 2024

Netflix has delayed six movies it had slated for this year back to a release sometime in 2024 according to a new article at What’s On Netflix summarising the streamer’s recent release shifts. The delays are as follows:

“Lift” – the mid-air heist thriller from F. Gary Gray (“The Fate of the Furious”) which follows a master thief and her ex-boyfriend who team up to steal $100 million in gold bullion being transported on a 777 passenger flight. Kevin Hart, Vincent D’Onofrio, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sam Worthington and Jean Reno star in the film, which was initially slated for August 25th and, as reported the other week, will now hit January 12th 2024.

“Damsel” – a fantasy film starring Millie Bobby Brown as a dutiful damsel who agrees to marry a handsome prince – only to be thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon as a sacrifice. She must rely on her wits and will to survive in the film, which co-stars Angela Bassett. Originally slated for October 13th, it now has an unspecified 2024 date.

“A Family Affair” – A romantic comedy movie starring Joey King as a young woman who works as an assistant for movie star Chris Cole (Zac Efron) only to learn he’s fallen in love with her mother (Nicole Kidman). Liza Koshy and Kathy Bates co-star in the film which was set for November 17th and will now hit sometime in 2024.

“Players” has been pushed to next year. It follows a New York sportswriter Mack (Gina Rodriguez) has spent years devising successful hook-up ‘plays’ with best friend Adam (Damon Wayans Jr.) and unexpectedly falls head-over-heels for one of her targets (Tom Ellis).

Finally both the Shirley Chisholm biopic “Shirley” starring Regina King, and the Adam Sandler-led “Spaceman” have also been pushed to 2024.
