Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have released one final trailer for the CG-animated “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” feature ahead of its release next week.
The turtle’s voice cast includes real-life teenagers Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo) and Brady Noon (Raphael).
They’re joined by Jackie Chan as the voice of wise rat mentor Splinter along with Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Seth Rogen as Bebop, John Cena as Rocksteady, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, Ice Cube as Superfly, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Post Malone as Ray Fillet and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.
In the story, the Turtle brothers seek to win the hearts of New Yorkers by performing heroic acts they hope will get them accepted as normal teenagers.
Meanwhile, they take on a mysterious crime syndicate with the help of new friend April O’Neil (Edebiri) but find themselves over their heads when a mutant army is unleashed.
The project marks Nickelodeon Animation Studios’ first theatrical CG-animated movie (Nickelodeon, as a company, has distributed CG-animated films before).
Jeff Rowe (“The Mitchells vs. the Machines,” “Gravity Falls”) directs from a screenplay written by Brendan O’Brien (“Neighbors: Sorority Rising”) with the tone said to be akin to a coming-of-age story.
Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver produce “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,” which opens in cinemas on August 2nd.
