Following yesterday’s tease, Epic Games has officially announced its collaboration with the animated comedy “Futurama” as part of its mega-successful battle royale video game “Fortnite”.
Three new outfits representing the main characters from the show – Fry, Bender, and Leela – are now available in the item shop. Each comes with an alternate colour and a back bling (Hypnotoad, Nibbler and Bender’s son Ben Rodriquez respectively).
Matching pickaxes (Giant Nutcracker, Solid Gold Fiddle, Unbendable Girder respectively) for each character can also be purchased.
In addition, the Planet Express Ship has been added to the game as a glider. The Zoidberg Scuttle is available as an emote, and Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun has been added as a weapon.
The timing comes as “Futurama” made its return to screens this week on Hulu after a decade’s absence from the air. Though reviews for the first episode were soft, it’s just one of ten new episodes to air this year with a further ten already ordered.
Check out the collaboration’s announcement trailer below. The new characters and items are now playable in “Fortnite” which is widely available.
