Amazon Prime has released the first trailer for the upcoming second season of its fantasy drama “The Wheel of Time”, based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling book series.
The tale unfolds in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists, but only women can use it. In the new run, threats new and very old seek out the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered over the world.
The woman who guided them is now powerless to help, and so they must find other sources of strength either in each other or themselves.
Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Zoe Robins, Madeleine Madden, Josha Stradowski and Marcus Rutherford co-star whilst Donal Finn takes over the Mat Cauthon role in the new season.
Joining this season are Ceara Coveney as Lady Elayne Trakand, Ayoola Smart, Natasha O’Keeffe, Gregg Chillingirian, Meera Syal, Maja Simonsen, Ragga Ragnars, Jay Duffy and Rima Te Wiata.
The show’s first season began airing on Amazon Freevee earlier this week and is available now on Amazon Prime Video.
The second season launches on the service on September 1st on Prime Video, with a third season already in production (though presently paused due to the writer’s and actor’s strikes).
