Apple Axes “High Desert” After One Season

Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has cancelled its Patricia Arquette-led series “High Desert” after a single season which wrapped its run around two weeks ago.

The series premiered its first season’s first three episodes on May 17th with weekly new episodes continuing to roll out up through until June 21st.

Former “Medium” and “Severance” star Arquette led the series as Peggy Newman, a drug addict who aims to start a new sober life in the Yucca Valley desert where she becomes a private eye.

Brad Garrett, Weruche Opia and Rupert Friend co-starred. Arquette broke the news of the cancellation in an Instagram video posting, saying:

“A lot of you have asked about ‘High Desert’ and if there was going to be a second season, so I just wanted to let you know that we just found out that we won’t be coming back. That’s a sad bummer for all of us.”

The actress expressed her gratitude to the crew, writers and actors on the series. Nancy Fichman, Katie Ford and Jennifer Hoppe served as writers and creators.
