A now deleted posting by cinematographer Kramer Morgenthau on Instagram has confirmed that filming has wrapped on Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: Brave New World”. Morgenthau previously served as cinematographer on “Thor: The Dark World”.
Formerly titled “Captain America: New World Order,” the project marks the fourth overall “Captain America” feature and the first to see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson taking over the mantle from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.
It also serves as a continuation of the television miniseries “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. The project began filming back in March at Trilith Studios in Atlanta with additional filming in Washington, DC.
Directed by Julius Onah, who co-wrote the script with Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, the film also stars Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Shira Haas and Harrison Ford taking over the role of General Thunderbolt Ross from the late William Hurt.
In addition, “The Incredible Hulk” stars Tim Blake Nelson and Liv Tyler will also be reprising their roles as Marvel villain Samuel Sterns/Leader and Betty Ross, after 15 years since the Edward Norton-led film’s theatrical debut.
“Captain America: Brave New World” is scheduled to be released on July 26th 2024 as part of the current fifth phase of the MCU.
