“Metal Gear Solid 4” Remaster Finally Coming?

Konami

Earlier this week, Konami announced the contents of the upcoming “Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.” arriving in October.

The remaster collection for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch will include the original two “Metal Gear” games and the first three “Metal Gear Solid” titles along with “Snake’s Revenge”. It marks the first-ever PC release of “Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater”.

Upon inspecting the code of the timeline page of the official Metal Gear Solid website, Twitter user Nitroid discovered placeholder buttons for “Metal Gear Solid 4,” “Metal Gear Solid 5” and “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker”.

IGN subsequently has reported that those titles will be the lineup for “Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2”. They’ve asked Konami for comment but have not received it as yet.

If it turns out to be true, the inclusion of 2008’s “Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot” is big news. That game has only ever been available on the PlayStation 3 since launch, and so this collection would mark the first time it comes to other platforms and the first time many will get a chance to experience the game.

‘Peace Walker’ was made for the PSP but later launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. “Metal Gear Solid 5” launched in 2015 for PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
