It’s the recently established Juneteenth public holiday in the United States this coming Monday, with multiple film releases set to open across the four-day box-office weekend.
The big release is Andy Muschietti’s “The Flash” film from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC which is reportedly headed for a Friday single-day haul of around $26 million – yielding a three-day take of around $64 million and four-day of over $72 million.
Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental” meanwhile made just $11 million on Friday for a three-day haul of $33 million and four-day of $36 million.
The holdovers are also going strong, with Sony Animation’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” taking $8.4 million in its third Friday to result in a $28.9 million third weekend (down 48%) and four-day of $34.3 million.
“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” meanwhile is seeing a second Friday of $5.5 million, a three-day of $20.5 million (down 66%) and a four-day of $23.5 million.
Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” in its fourth weekend is headed for $4 million on Friday, a three-day haul of $13.1 million (down 43%), and a four-day of $15.3 million.
Lionsgate’s comedy “The Blackening” is set to open to $2.3 million on Friday, $5.5 million for the three-day and $6.3 million for the four-day.
All six films alone right now are amounting to nearly $190 million in box-office for the four-day holiday weekend – suggesting a healthy box office overall.
