Sony has reserved theatrical release dates for two of its untitled Sony/Marvel movies – November 8th 2024 and June 27th 2025. Both will reportedly have access to IMAX screens.
The films will join the already locked-in dates for “Kraven the Hunter” on October 6th this year, “El Muerto” in January and “Madame Web” on February 16th 2024. A few other projects like “Jackpot” and “Nightwatch” are stuck in development.
Already the speculation is the late 2024 date will be for the third “Venom” film, which is scheduled to begin filming this month in London. Its only competition are dates set aside for Universal and Warners tentpoles earlier that month, along with the “Gladiator” sequel on November 22nd.
The June 2025 date, however, could well be for the proposed fourth “Spider-Man” film that would follow the new “Fantastic Four” on May 2nd 2025 that kicks off Marvel’s sixth ‘phase’.
Its competition is an untitled Blumhouse movie, and Disney’s new live-action take of the animated classic “Moana” both opening that weekend.
The dates come as Sony’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” has racked up some of the year’s best reviews along with $412 million at the worldwide box-office thus far.
