We had a sneak peek back in January and a teaser in May. Now, Apple TV+ has released the full-length trailer for the second season of its long-in-the-works adaptation of Isaac Asmio’s hard sci-fi novel series “Foundation”.

The story chronicles a band of exiles on their unprecedented journey to rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire. Four crucial individuals who transcend space and time are faced with deadly crises, shifting loyalties and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.

Beginning more than a century after the season one finale, the new run sees tension mounting throughout the galaxy. As the Cleons unravel, a vengeful queen plots to destroy the Empire from within.

Hari, Gaal, and Salvor discover a colony of Mentalics with psionic abilities that threaten to alter psychohistory itself. The Foundation has entered its religious phase, promulgating the Church of Seldon throughout the Outer Reach and inciting the Second Crisis: war with Empire.

The ensemble cast includes Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann, and Cassian Bilton, who are joined in the new run by Isabella Laughland, Kulvinder Ghir, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, Ella-Rae Smith, Dimitri Leonidas, Ben Daniels, Holt McCallany, Rachel House, and Nimrat Kaur.

David S. Goyer serves as showrunner of the series, with the second season arriving on the platform on July 14th with the season to run through to September 15th.
