Final Trailer: “The Witcher” Season 3

Netflix

Netflix has premiered the final trailer for the third season of its big-budget fantasy drama “The Witcher” based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski.

The new season will be split into two with the first five episodes to arrive on June 29th, while the remaining three episodes appear four weeks later on July 27th.

The third season was shot between April and September last year, with filming taking place in Slovenia, Croatia, Morocco, parts of the Sahara, Wales, Surrey and Longcross Studios in England.

Series creator and showrunner Lauren Hissrich has previously indicated the new season is primarily an adaptation of “Time of Contempt,” one of the more action-heavy entries into Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel series.

It is also said to be closest to a one-to-one adaptation of the books thus far. The new run marks Henry Cavill’s final outing in the role of Geralt of Rivia, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the part for the show’s fourth and fifth season.

Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey co-star in the series, with the new episodes following in the wake of the poorly received prequel spin-off mini-series “The Witcher: Blood Origin”.
