“Star Wars: Ahsoka” Sets Premiere Date

Lionsgate

Lucasfilm has announced August 23rd as the official launch date of its highly anticipated “Star Wars: Ahsoka” series.

The story is set in the wake of Ahsoka’s live-action appearances in “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett” and in a time period after the fall of the Empire.

The series also serves as a follow-up to the animated “Star Wars Rebels” as former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy – going on the hunt for the disappeared Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger.

The project hails from “Star Wars Rebels” co-creator Dave Filoni and is executive produced by Filoni and Jon Favreau. Filoni reportedly wrote every episode himself.

The voice cast includes Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, and Wes Chatham, with Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma and Lars Mikkelsen as Admiral Thrawn.

“Ahsoka” will stream exclusively on the Disney+ service. Check out a just released TV spot below including brief looks at new scenes including one harkening back to the “Rebels” epilogue.
