“S.H.I.E.L.D.” Stars Open To Potential Return

Ending a seven-season run in 2020, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” remains an odd experiment in the wider Marvel world.

The series acknowledged the events of the films, but the films never acknowledged the events of the series, even as the show filled in a few blanks related to MCU story elements like H.Y.D.R.A. and the fate of Agent Phil Coulson before diverging from it in later seasons.

The show still has a fanbase years later, helped by its availability in full on the Disney+ service, as people gravitate to its characters. One of those was Quake/Daisy Johnson, played by Chloe Bennet, who was arguably the most significant ‘superhero’ the show produced.

In an interview with Screen Rant recently, Bennet was asked if she was open to returning to the role if Marvel called. She says she’s game:

“Of course, I would be open to it. Listen, there’s a lot of stuff around that. I so deeply love SHIELD fans because it’s their tenacity that got the show on air to begin with.

I have not once been approached or asked or involved in anything after I’ve wrapped SHIELD, and I am not involved in anything that is coming out.

I’ve not been asked, but I would be more than excited to put on the suit again. Of course, Daisy’s a big part of who I am. So, I would love to, but I have not been communicated with.”

She’s not the only cast member asked about a potential return lately. Speaking with The Cosmic Circus at last weekend’s Motor City Comic Con, Clark Gregg was asked if there’s a chance that he will reprise his role as Phil Coulson down the line.

He responded: “There’s always a chance. There’s just always a chance that – I mean, you know, it’s a multiverse.” He adds he hopes he can come back to the films at some point and all the show’s cast remain “very, very close”.
