Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for “Hijack,” a dramatic action thriller series led by Idris Elba and dealing with a mid-air hijacking.
Unfolding in real-time, the story deals with the journey of a hijacked plane as it makes its way from Dubai to London over a seven-hour international flight.
As authorities on the ground scramble for answers, Elba’s talented business negotiator character tries to deal with them whilst also trying to get passengers onboard to calm down and potentially take back the plane.
On the ground, a political drama unfolds as the government processes the demands of the terrorists who seem to have connections that go high up.
The series boasts a strong supporting cast, including Archie Panjabi, Christine Adams, Max Beesley, Eve Myles and Neil Maskell.
The project hails from “Lupin” creator George Kay and BAFTA-nominated “The Wrong Mans” director Jim Field Smith who previously teamed on the “Litvinenko” series starring David Tenant. Elba also executive produces the series.
“Hijack” will launch with two episodes on June 28th followed by weekly release episodes after. As parts of the series unfold before and after the flight, it’s not clear how many episodes in total there are.
