Marvel’s “Deadpool 3” Has Begun Filming?

Even as the writer’s strike is continuing, the industry keeps chugging along, with word coming today that production appears to have started on the third “Deadpool” film.

According to Comicbook.com, Colossus actor Stefan Kapicic took to Instagram earlier today with an image of the news and a ‘Confirmed’ sticker added to it. Upon checking, the posting appears to no longer be there.

Trade reports previously indicated Marvel’s “Deadpool 3” and “Thunderbolts” would continue their respective production schedules without the help of writers.

As Ryan Reynolds is credited as a writer on the film’s script, Collider indicates he is not allowed to improvise any lines during the entire time production takes place while the strike is ongoing. They have to follow to the letter of the script delivered before the industrial action began.

The film’s director Shawn Levy earlier this year indicated the production was hoping to start filming in May.

Kapicic joins fellow returnees Reynolds (Deadpool), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), and Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio).

They’re joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. “Deadpool 3” is set for release on November 8th 2024.
