“Fast X” Scores $7.5M In Previews

Universal Pictures

Universal Pictures’ “Fast X” is off to a solid start with $7.5 million taken in from Thursday previews.

That beats “F9” which saw Thursday previews of $7.1 million ahead of its $70 million domestic opening weekend in 2021. One key difference – “F9” previews started at 7pm whilst the “Fast X” ones began at 2pm.

The Louis Leterrier-directed tenth film in the series is still on track for a $58 million-plus debut this weekend and a far larger debut overseas, with $235 million expected for the weekend.

Today’s figures are far behind the franchise’s peak preview numbers which were “Furious 7” with $15.8 million ahead of a $147 million opening weekend and “The Fate of the Furious” with $10.4 million in previews ahead of a $98.7 million opening weekend.

The film already opened in some markets on Wednesday and Thursday, and the film was No. 1 in every territory it debuted, including China, France, Germany and Korea.

Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Momoa, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Leo Abelo Perry, John Cena, Charlize Theron, Cardi B, Helen Mirren, Michael Rooker, Alan Ritchson, Rita Moreno, Daniela Melchior and Scott Eastwood co-star.

“Fast X” is now open worldwide exclusively in cinemas.
