Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna have joined the cast of the third “Deadpool” film at Marvel Studios & Disney with filming set to start later this month ahead of a November 8th 2024 release.
Hildebrand will reprise her role of Negasonic Teenage Warhead from the previous two films who can generate nuclear explosions. Kutsuna returns as her Japanese ninja girlfriend Yukio from the prior film.
They return alongside Ryan Reynolds as foul-mouthed mercenary Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, and Rob Delaney as Peter.
Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen are also onboard in undisclosed roles. Shawn Levy will direct and produce from a script by Levy, Reynolds, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Zeb Wells.
That’s not the only bit of Marvel Studios casting today. “The Wire” and “Evil” alum Clark Johnson is reportedly set to recur in Marvel’s “Daredevil: Born Again” series along with directing two of its eighteen episode run.
Details about the character are under wraps, but Johnson is believed to be playing a recurring character named Cherry.
The name could quite possibly be referring to Randolph Cherryh who previously appeared in the first season of Netflix’s incarnation of the series played by Jonathan Walker.
In that, the character is a New York Senator who worked closely with Wilson Fisk and his Hell’s Kitchen rebuilding project. He was last seen being arrested by the FBI.
Written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the new series will see Charlie Cox return to the role of Daredevil/Matt Murdock – attorney by day and crimefighter by night. Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role of mob boss Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
In more speculative rumor talk, a report at The Hot Mic (via Discussing Film) indicates Emma Stone was approached to star as Sue Storm in Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” film, but the outlet indicates negotiations fell through over pay.
