Oscar-nominated Xilam Animation (“Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life”) has been announced as the animation studio for Zack Snyder’s Norse mythology-inspired 2D animated action epic series “Twilight of the Gods” for Netflix.
The voice cast list includes John Noble as Odin, Pilou Asbæk as Thor, Sylvia Hoeks as Sigrid, Paterson Joseph as Loki, Rahul Kohli as Egill, Lauren Cohen as Inge, Corey Stoll as Hrafnkel, Jamie Chung as Hel, Kristofer Hivju as Andvari, Stuart Martin as Leif, Peter Stormare as Ulfr and Jamie Clayton as The Seid-Kona. Jessica Henwick is also believed to be on board.
Snyder co-created the series and directs two episodes. Jay Olivia and Eric Carrasco also created the series, with Olivia directing other episodes. Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller executive produce.
Marc du Pontavice, Founder and CEO at Xilam Animation says: “We’ll be utilising state-of-the-art 2D animation across the series, which will include spectacular battles and special effects in the distinctive style that has characterised Zack’s work throughout his illustrious career. This project also marks a significant step forward in our ambitions to bring our expertise into the world of adult action series for global audiences.”
Back in March, Snyder told The Nerd Queens the project “has been forging ahead incredibly well, and it’s looking amazing. I’m really excited about it. I work on it every day, and it’s cool so that I’m very excited [bout] and it’s coming.”
Snyder has been occupied with his two-film “Rebel Moon” sci-fi saga that kicks off in December also on Netflix.
