Amazon Studios’ has acquired Brian Otting’s action comedy feature script “Never Too Old to Die” with plans for it to become a star vehicle for Sylvester Stallone.
The story begins with a mysterious murder within a retirement home for spies. It sparks a Cold War hero’s personal mission to find the assassin living amongst this colorful collection of people who practised deception for a living.
No director is yet attached to “Never Too Old to Die” though it’s expected the production will get moving fast.
Stallone and Braden Aftergood will produce through their Balboa Productions label – the first project in their recent multi-year, first-look deal with Amazon Studios.
That deal will see Stallone write, direct, produce and star in both scripted and unscripted projects for Amazon, both on film and TV. Stallone most recently appeared in the Amazon Prime film “Samaritan” and the Paramount+ crime drama series “Tulsa King”.
He will appear alongside his family in the docuseries “The Family Stallone” launching on Paramount+ on May 17th, and has appearances in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” in May and another “The Expendables” film in August.
