Untitled Gore Verbinski’s Next
Sam Rockwell is reportedly in talks to star in Gore Verbinski’s next film. No word as to what the project or role entails at present. The project marks “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Rango” and “The Ring” director Verbinski’s first film since 2016’s “A Cure For Wellness”.

His name has been attached to a few projects that failed to coalesce, including the “Gambit” film at Fox, which has been scrapped, the “BioShock” movie when it was at Universal (it’s now at Netflix with Francis Lawrence helming), and the animated feature “Cattywumpus”. [Source: Discussing Film]

Unknown Marvel Project
Former “Prison Break” and “The Menu” alum Paul Adelstein has confirmed that he has joined an unknown Marvel Cinematic Universe project with the project currently filming in Atlanta. It’s currently unknown what project he’s filming, the most likely option being “Captain America: New World Order” though could also be “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” or “Blade”. [Source: Instagram]

Untitled Spy Comedy
Sebastian Stan (“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”) and Maria Bakalova (“Borat Subsequent Moviefilm”) are attached to star in an untitled spy comedy in early development at Paramount Pictures. Jenny Bicks (“Welcome to Flatch”) will write the script.

The story revolves around a failed double agent who becomes an unlikely success. “Spy” and “The School for Good and Evil” director Paul Feig is eyeing to direct the film which he will produce alongside Stan, Laura Allen Fischer and Emily Gerson Saines. [Source: Deadline]

Untitled James Baldwin Project
Billy Porter will portray author and civil rights activist James Baldwin in an upcoming untitled biopic adapted from the 1994 book “James Baldwin: A Biography” by David Leeming. Porter and Dan McCabe co-write the script. Baldwin fought for racial justice in the U.S. civil rights movement and penned influential works like “If Beale Street Could Talk” and “Go Tell It on the Mountain”. [Source: Variety]

Sacramento
Kristen Stewart, Michael Angarano, Michael Cera and Maya Erskine have joined the road-trip comedy “Sacramento” with Angarano directing the feature due to shoot this spring. He also Angarano and Chris Smith co-wrote the script.

Angarano plays an energetic and free-spirited young man and Cera plays his long-time friend who’s settled into domestic life. On an impromptu road trip their past comes into focus and questions their future. Erskine and Stewart play Angarano and Cera’s wives, respectively. AJ Mendez, Iman Karram and Rosalind Chao co-star.
