The final two episodes of the third season of “Star Trek: Picard” appears to be getting a one-night-only theatrical release in select IMAX theaters on Wednesday, April 19th, according to a listing on GoFoBo.com.
The site indicates tickets will be free and available on Wednesday, April 12th at 1pm US-ET. The second last episode, titled “Vox,” airs this week, with the screenings coming just before the final episode “The Last Generation” hits the streamer late next week.
Participating cities reportedly include Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington DC.
The listing is only appearing on one movie ticketing website at present, though several outlets have picked up the news already with Variety subsequently confirming the story. The listing also appears to be only for U.S. cinemas, so U.K. and other fans won’t be so lucky.
A pre-taped Q&A with the cast will also reportedly be included. The panel includes Patrick Stewart, Gates McFadden, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jeri Ryan, Brent Spiner, Terry Matalas and Alex Kurtzman. There will also reportedly be a poster giveaway.
The third season of “Picard” has drawn rave reviews from fans and sits at an 8.55/10 average rating on Rotten Tomatoes, putting it just above last year’s “Andor” and “Severance” (8.5/10) and making it one the fourth highest rated season of TV this year behind only “Succession” (9.25), “The Last of Us” (8.75), “Abbott Elementary” (8.7), and ahead of “Poker Face” (8.5) and “Beef” (8.5).
