Following the massive drop of twenty-four character posters for the film earlier, Warner Bros. Pictures and Mattel Film have now unveiled the official poster and second trailer for the live-action “Barbie” movie.
In the film, a doll living in ‘Barbieland’ is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world. Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird”) directed and co-wrote the script with her partner Noah Baumbach.
The new trailer shows off scenes with the various Barbies and Kens in Barbieland, plenty of suggestive humor, some incredible costumes and production design, and just an overall sense of fun as it embraces the camp.
Margot Robbie takes on the iconic role of Barbie alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken. They’re joined by Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Issa Rae, Alexandra Shipp, Emerald Fennell, Kate McKinnon, Ritu Arya, Hari Nef, Sharon Rooney, Ana Cruz Kayne and Nicola Coughlan are also all playing Barbies in the film.
Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Scott Evans are all playing Kens whilst America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, Connor Swindells, Ariana Greenblatt, Jamie Demetriou and Helen Mirren have other roles.
Dua Lipa has reportedly created multiple new songs for the film which opens on July 21st opposite Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer”.
