Hinds, Kinnear, Moodie Join “Rings of Power”

Acting veterans Ciaran Hinds and Rory Kinnear along with Tanya Moodie have all joined the second season of Amazon Prime’s fantasy series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” which is currently in production in the United Kingdom.

Hinds is best known for his roles in numerous films and series from “Munich” and “There Will Be Blood” to “The Sum of All Fears” and voice work like Steppenwolf in “Justice League”. His TV credits include “Rome” and “Game of Thrones”.

Kinnear is a Bond film regular, playing M’s aide Tanner in both “Skyfall” and “Spectre”. Other notable credits include the “Penny Dreadful” series and multiple roles in Alex Garland’s “Men”.

Moodie has had roles in shows like “Sherlock” and “Motherland”. All three roles are said to be recurring ones but plot specifics are under wraps.

Others joining for the new season include Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, William Chubb, Kevin Eldon, Will Keen, Selina Lo, Calam Lynch, Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels, Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle and Nicholas Woodeson.

In addition, Sam Hazeldine is replacing Joseph Mawle in the role of the villain Adar.

The eight episode first season quickly became the streamer’s most watched original series, racking up more than 24 billion minutes streamed. Showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay are returning for the new run which is expected to air next year.
