Lionsgate has premiered a third and final trailer for the upcoming fourth feature in the “John Wick” action franchise which finally arrives nearly four years after the prior entry.
Spanning Japan, Jordan, Germany, France and the U.S., the new entry sees Keanu Reeves’ John Wick getting ready to take on the High Table following the events of the third film. He finds himself challenging The Marquis (Bill Skarsgard) in order to have his past transgression absolved.
Regulars to the franchise that return include Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick are back while Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins and Clancy Brown co-star in the new entry as both allies and villains.
The trailer comes as Reeves has opened up about the use of DeepFake and AI technologies in film and television, and says he’s even added a clause in his contract so editors don’t manipulate his performance. He tells Wired:
“I don’t mind if someone takes a blink out during an edit. But early on, in the early 2000s, or it might have been the ’90s, I had a performance changed. They added a tear to my face, and I was just like, ‘Huh?!’ It was like, ‘I don’t even have to be here.'”
Clocking in at 169 minutes, “John Wick: Chapter 4” is set to open in cinemas on March 24th.
