Spirited Away
GKIDS has announced that it has acquired the distribution rights to the filmed performances of last year’s stage play adaptation of Miyazaki’s “Spirited Away” in Tokyo, with plans to release the film theatrically in the Spring. [Source: GKIDS]

Aftersun
Arthouse streamer MUBI has revealed that the Paul Mescal-led Oscar hopeful “Aftersun” has become the company’s most streamed release globally – far surpassing its releases of other critical favorites like “Drive My Car,” “Portrait Of A Lady On Fire,” “Decision To Leave,” and “The Worst Person In The World”.

The film was released to streaming in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Latin America and a handful of other markets on January 6th. It also became the top-viewed film all time in these individual territories. It will expand to other markets in Europe from March. [Source: Deadline]

The Red Triangle
“47 Meters Down” helmer Johannes Roberts will direct another shark-themed psychological horror/thriller with “The Red Triangle” which begins when a packed family cruise ship begins to sink in the shark-infested waters off the coast of California and soon some great white sharks begin a feeding frenzy. Scream VI
Ahead of the Super Bowl this coming Sunday, Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group have released a new 55-second trailer for “Scream VI” which will be shown during the big game and includes some new footage. “Scream VI” hits cinemas on March 10th.
