Nintendo Offers “Zelda” Trailer, “Metroid” News

Following its premiere as part of its latest Direct presentation, Nintendo has released the second official trailer for “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” – the highly anticipated sequel to 2017’s Game of the Year title “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”.

An epic adventure across the land and skies of Hyrule awaits in ‘Tears’. You’ll decide your own path through the sprawling landscapes of Hyrule and the mysterious islands floating in the vast skies above. Can you harness the power of Link’s new abilities to fight back against the malevolent forces that threaten the kingdom?

Whilst the preview was the headline item of the presentation, other announcements also caught attention. First up, remaster of the original “Metroid Prime” and the first two “Baten Kaiton” games been made for the Switch. The remastered ‘Metroid’ is out today digitally and will be available physically on February 22nd.

Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games are being added to Nintendo Switch Online with titles like “Tetris,” “Super Mario Land 2,” “Super Mario Advance 4,” “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX,” “Metroid II: Return of Samus,” “Wario Land 3,” “WarioWare Inc.”, “Kuru Kuru Kururin,” “Mario Kart Super Circuit,” “Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga,” “The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap,” “Kirby’s Dream Land,” “Gargoyle’s Quest,” “Game and Watch Gallery 3,” and “Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare” available at launch.

There’s also “Disney Illusion Island” is a co-op title releasing July 28th that has you steering Mickey & Friends as they explore the mysterious island of Monoth. Other titles shown off include “TRON: Identity,” “Kirby’s Return To Dreamland Deluxe,” “Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp,” “Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection,” “Harmony: The Fall of Reverie,” “Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon,” “Deca Police,” “Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective,” “Samba de Amigo: Party Central” and expansions for “Xenoblade Chronicles 3,” “Dead Cells,” “Splatoon 3” and “Fire Emblem Engage”.
