Ben Stiller To Star In “Three Identical Strangers”

20th Century Fox

“Zoolander” and “Meet the Parents” star turned filmmaker Ben Stiller is on the verge of a deal to star in “Three Identical Strangers,” a limited series adaptation of the 2018 documentary of the same name which won a special Jury Prize at Sundance.

The series will focus on the true story of Bobby Shafran, David Kellman, and Eddy Galland – identical triplets who were separated at birth and adopted by separate families only to be reunited later in life.

Though joyous at first, the differences between the triplets became more apparent with time and it strained all their relationships, and all three had mental health problems which led to suicide by one of the three.

Ultimately the nature of why they were split up was revealed as part of an intentional human experiment on nature vs. nurture.

This will mark Stiller’s first major acting role in years and a rare TV role as he’s more focused on producing and directing these days.

Amy Lippman (“Party of Five” reboot) is penning the project which hails from Sony Pictures Television, SK Global and TriStar Television.

Lippman would also serve as showrunner and executive produce alongside Stiller, Sidney Kimmel, John Penotti, Charlie Corwin, Marcy Ross, Piers Vellacott, Dimitri Doganis, Tim Wardle and Emmeline Yang Hankins.
