Following their prior teaming on “Mildred Pierce” and “Mare Of Easttown,” HBO has released the first photo of Kate Winslet in the secretive limited series “The Palace”.
The series follows one year behind the palace walls of an authoritarian regime as it starts to unravel. Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton, and Hugh Grant co-star.
The project hails from “Succession” duo Will Tracy and Frank Rich who executive produce, while Stephen Frears directs. The varied writing team includes Sarah DeLappe (“Bodies Bodies Bodies”), New Yorker writer Gary Shteyngart, and various late night talk show writers including Seth Reiss, Juli Weiner and Jen Spyra.
Production is underway in Austria and will move soon to the UK. A release date is not clear but will be late 2023 at earliest, more likely 2024.
