Driver, LaBeouf In “Megalopolis” Set Photos

Adam Driver, Jon Voight, Nathalie Emmanuel and Shia LaBeouf were all photographed in the U.S. city of Atlanta, Georgia this past Wednesday night whilst shooting scenes for Francis Ford Coppola’s $120 million-budget epic “Megalopolis”.

LaBeouf donned a white Grecian gown beneath a golden corset, gold wreath headdress, matching purse and gladiator heels along with a fair amount of make-up for his role, whilst Driver and Voight were spotted in tuxedos adorned with gold leafing.

Various cast like SNL star Chloe Fineman were also all spotted with gold wreaths and flowing dresses with a heavy Ancient Rome meets Greek goddess motif, albeit in present-day surroundings. According to those on the scene, filming involved several ladies dancing on top of a limo while clutching champagne bottles.

Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, Jason Schwartzman and Dustin Hoffman also star in the film about an architect who seeks to rebuild New York City as a utopia after a disaster. It has been dubbed a “Roman epic set in modern America and based on the Catiline Conspiracy”.

The project is halfway through its three-month shoot, with Coppola personally bankrolling the majority of the film’s large budget himself. A report emerged last week of a chaotic set due to some turnover in the visual effects and art departments, with Coppola and Driver quickly shooting down any such talk.

Coppola says he aims to finish the film in Spring this year before seeking distribution theatrically with hopes of a simultaneous global release that will also include IMAX screens.
