Though he already played a more agreeable variation of him in the “Loki” finale, Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror makes his official debut in the upcoming “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in February.
As previously hinted, Majors’ character will essentially be the big bad of the Multiverse Saga in the way Josh Brolin’s Thanos was for the Infinity Saga. Thus we can expect to see a lot more of the character.
Speaking to Empire Magazine, filmmaker Peyton Reed discussed Kang and confirmed his inclusion in the film is just the start:
“I think it has a profound impact on the MCU. Jeff Loveness, who wrote this movie, is writing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty as well, so there’s been a lot of discussion about the impact that this appearance of Kang the Conqueror makes. There are big things in store.”
Reed also says Majors’ role as He Who Remains in “Loki” will be a quite different character to Kang:
“Kang The Conqueror in our movie is a very different character. He’s someone who has dominion over time, and he’s a warrior and a strategist. That’s interesting to me: to take the tiniest, and in some people’s minds weakest, Avenger and put them up against this absolute force of nature.”
“Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” is set to be released in cinemas on February 17th 2023.
