Rising actress Cailee Spaeny (“Mare of Easttown”) is in talks to lead the next “Alien” movie at 20th Century Studios.
“Don’t Breathe” and “Evil Dead” remake director Fede Alvarez wrote the script and is directing the feature which will reboot the franchise according to the franchise (how it fits in is unclear).
Ridley Scott will produce via his Scott Free banner with Alvarez also producing. The project will mark the seventh official “Alien” film (not counting the two AvP films).
Spaeny’s casting continue the franchise’s tradition of a strong female lead at the center. She is currently shooting Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla”.
