Former “Malcolm in the Middle” star Frankie Muniz has indicated that his former co-star Bryan Cranston is working on a potential revival of the famed early 2000s sitcom.
Muniz, Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek starred in the series about a dysfunctional family and their comical adventures. It won seven Emmys and led to numerous movie roles for Muniz.
The young actor stepped away from the spotlight to start his own businesses, joined a band, became a professional race car driver and still occasionally takes on acting roles.
Speaking with Fox News this week, Muniz said he would love to revisit the sitcom with the original cast:
“I would love to know what the family’s up to… I know Bryan Cranston is really into the idea and he’s kind of heading writing the script and getting everything rolling. So, there might be something. I would be down 100 percent… we’ll see what happens.”
Revivals of sitcoms have proven a mixed bag for streamers and networks with some proving hits like “The Conners” and “Fuller House,” whereas others haven’t fared so well.
