Filming will reportedly get underway next month in Budapest on the anticipated prequel series “Dune: The Sisterhood” at HBO Max and Legendary Television.
The news comes as filming has wrapped at Origo Studios in the Hungarian city on Denis Villeneuve’s film “Dune: Part Two,” with the production now moving to Jordan for the remainder of the shoot.
The news comes as ‘Sisterhood’ has been casting up with Emily Watson, Shirley Henderson and Indira Varma in leading roles.
Set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, the series will follow the Harkonnen Sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.
Diane Ademu-John serves as creator, writer, co-showrunner and executive producer. Alison Schapker is co-showrunner and executive producer. Johan Renck will direct the premiere episode.
