Sandler & Safdies Re-Team Sets Film Start

Adam Sandler confirms he’s re-teaming with his “Uncut Gems” filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie for the pair’s next feature – and it’s sooner than expected.

Speaking with Vanity Fair recently, Sandler tells the outlet the film will shoot in ‘late winter’ (ie. very early 2023) which suggests either a very late 2023 or 2024 release. He tells the outlet:

“I’m going to do a movie with the Safdie brothers, and we’re supposed to start in the late winter, right. So part of my brain right now is like, ‘I’m on tour’. Then once that Safdie brothers movie starts – and I love those guys, I know we’re going to dedicate ourselves into working our asses off and making sure it’s as good as it can be, and I know that takes a lot of time.”

Sandler adds that much like their last team-up, the project is going to be all-consuming as “once that movie starts, I’m in deep, and our lives are going to change… it’s going to be a few months of going after a goal that we all feel the same about”.

Specifics of what the film is about are under wraps.
