Disney has overhauled its film schedule, in the process delaying multiple Marvel projects by several months.
The push comes as THR reports the studio has officially delayed production on “Blade” so it can conduct a search for a new filmmaker, and retool the script, after the exit of Bassim Tariq two weeks ago.
With the delay, “Blade” has been pushed back nearly a full year whilst many of the Marvel films after it are now delayed several months – changing the schedule for much of Marvel’s ‘Phase Six’ plans. The new dates are as follows:
September 6th 2024: “Blade” (delayed ten months)
November 8th 2024: “Deadpool 3” (delayed two months)
February 14th 2025: “Fantastic Four” (delayed three months)
November 7th 2025: Untitled Marvel Film (delayed nine months)
May 1st 2026: “Avengers: Secret Wars” (delayed six months)
Disney has also set release dates for Searchlight’s historical drama “Chevalier” opening April 7th 2023, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” which will hit May 24th 2024, and “A Haunting in Venice” which will open September 15th 2023.
