Taissa Farmiga will return to “The Conjuring” horror universe to star in “The Nun 2,” a sequel to the 2018 global hit for New Line which surprisingly became the highest-grossing installment of any of the Conjuring movies.
Farmiga will reprise her role as Sister Irene and joins “Euphoria” actress Storm Reid in the production which will begin shooting before month’s end.
Michael Chaves (“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It”) will direct the follow-up to the prequel spinoff from” The Conjuring 2″ which saw Bonnie Aarons return as a demonic nun.
The 1950s period setting will remain for the sequel, but further details are under wraps. James Wan and Peter Safran are producing.
“The Nun 2” has already set a September 8th 2023 release.
