Radio Silence trio Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella, the team behind this year’s “Scream” and “Ready or Not,” are set to helm a TV series adaptation of podcaster/author Alaina Urquhart’s crime novel “The Butcher & The Wren”.
Set in Louisiana, the story comes from the duelling perspectives of a notorious serial killer, and a female medical examiner/forensic pathologist named Dr. Wren Muller who is following his trail of victims.
She leverages her encyclopedic knowledge of historical crimes to try to stop him as he gets more brazen by the day. “Chernobyl” producer Sister is adapting the book as a series with Dexter executive producer Jennifer Yale set to serve as showrunner.
