Storm Reid (“A Wrinkle in Time,” “The Invisible Man”) has scored a lead role in the sequel to 2018’s “The Nun” at New Line.
The follow-up to the successful “The Conjuring” prequel spin-off sees Michael Chaves directing following his work on 2021’s “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It”.
The first “The Nun” was set in a monastery in 1952 with the sequel still set to unfold in the 1950s with the demonic creature still not having been vanquished. Specifics of Reid’s character are under wraps.
Akela Cooper wrote the screenplay with current revisions by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing. James Wan and Peter Safran are producing, with filming to begin in October.
“The Nun 2” will release in cinemas on September 8th 2023.
