“Star Wars” actor John Boyega will reportedly help shape the story for the follow-up to 2011’s indie alien invasion action feature “Attack the Block”.

Speaking with Collider, the actor revealed that his involvement as a producer was impacting his involvement with the film’s script.

Ultimately it means the story is being ‘presented’ by both him and writer and director Joe Cornish:

“We’ve collaborated heavily on making a story that makes sense for Moses and the other characters, and the new characters that will be coming up in the sequel too, and then, also, there are different perspectives in writing it, with Joe having his perspective and me having mine.

London has changed so much, in so many different ways, over the years since the first movie. We’re just tryin’ to make sure we explore all of that while bringing in a whole different vibe to that crazy ass first movie that we made.”

Arriving a decade after the original, the pair reportedly have the “main spine” of the story for the follow-up ready, and Cornish has gone back to his old script and notes to look them over and deal with “aging the character slightly and seeing where he’s at now.”

The first film was considered Boyega’s first breakthrough role. He’ll next be seen in “The Woman King” which opens September 15th.
