Blue Planet 3
The BBC is moving forward with both a third season in the “Blue Planet” nature doco series, and the athletic competition series “Gladiators”. “Blue Planet II” in 2017 was one of the most-viewed BBC shows of the decade.
The third “Blue Planet” will focus on the five major underwater habitats: the Tropical, Temperate, Polar, High Seas and Deep Seas, with a sixth episode exploring how the seas are changing. [Source: Deadline]
The Perfect Couple
Netflix and “Stranger Things” producer Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment label are re-teaming for the six-episode murder mystery series “The Perfect Couple” based on a novel by Elin Hilderbrand. Jenna Lamia (“Good Girls”) is adapting the novel and will serve as showrunner.
The story centers on Celeste Otis, who is about to marry the perfect man – who happens to be from the wealthiest family on Nantucket. But when a body is found floating in the harbor on the morning of the wedding, everyone at the party becomes a suspect. [Source: THR]
Louis C.K.
Paramount+ is reportedly working on a documentary about disgraced comedian Louis C.K. who stepped back from public life after he was caught up in the #MeToo movement. The story will involve the New York Times reporters who broke the story that Louis C.K. had been accused of sexual misconduct by five women. [Source: Variety]
Euphoria
Barbie Ferreira, who plays Kat Hernandez on HBO’s “Euphoria,” will not be returning for the show’s third season. The actress revealed the news in an Instagram story, the exit follows on from the character being sidelined through much of the second season with a report at The Daily Beast going into details.
Cabinet of Curiosities
Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes featurette for Guillermo del Toro’s live-action horror anthology series “Cabinet of Curiosities” which is scheduled to make its debut starting on October 25th.
The four-day double-episode event boasts eight terrifying episodes from eight different directors including the likes of Jennifer Kent, Panos Cosmatos, Jennifer Kent, Vincenzo Natali, Ana Lily Amirpour, Catherine Hardwicke, and Guillermo Navarro.
