Breaking Bear
Tubi has handed out a green light to “Breaking Bear,” an adult animated comedy series from “The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia” director Julien Nitzberg, Cartel Entertainment and To The Stars Media.
The series follows the escapades of three bear siblings who decide they have to start selling drugs in order to raise money and save their home after gas companies start fracking next to their cave. Their fight will pit them against oil companies, the Russian Mafia, local Hell’s Angels and polar bears who hate anything that isn’t white. [Source: Deadline]
Poker Face
Ron Perlman, Nick Nolte, Charles Melton, and Tim Blake Nelson have all joined the cast of the Natasha Lyonne-led and Rian Johnson-created procedural murder mystery series “Poker Face” on Peacock.
The series sees Lyonne’s character working to solve different murders in each episode. The cast list already includes Adrien Brody, Benjamin Bratt, Chloe Sevigny, Ellen Barkin, Jameela Jamil, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Judith Light, Lil Rel Howery, S. Epatha Merkerson and Tim Meadows. [Source: Variety]
Hunt
Magnolia Pictures has landed domestic rights to “Squid Game” star Lee Jung-jae’s feature directorial “Hunt”, which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in the Midnight section. A December theatrical release is planned.
The espionage action film is set in the 1980s and follows two agents in Korean Central Intelligence who are tasked with hunting a spy within the agency and then learn of a grand plot to assassinate the South Korean president. Jung-jae, Jung Woo-sung, Jeon Hye-jin and Heo Sung-tae co-star. [Source: Deadline]
White Noise
Film composer Danny Elfman is set to score Noah Baumbach’s black comedy-horror film adaptation of Don DeLillo’s 1985 novel “White Noise”. Greta Gerwig and Adam Driver co-star in the film, which will hit the Fall film festival circuit shortly. Elfman will also reunite with Tim Burton to score “Wednesday,” Burton’s upcoming “Addams Family” television series. [Source: iNews]

Disney has announced that its upcoming D23 fan expo will include a Disney and Marvel Games Showcase on September 9th. Titles like “Disney Dreamlight Valley,” “Marvel’s Midnight Suns,” “Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga”, and a sneak peek at Amy Hennig’s Skydance New Media Marvel ensemble title.
