Apple has renewed its acclaimed alt-history space race series “For All Mankind” for a fourth season – the news coming in the wake of the third season’s premiere on the service in early June.
The announcement, made Friday as part of the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, was revealed just weeks ahead of the new season commencing production in August.
The alternative history series hails from “Battlestar Galactica,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and “Outlander” executive producer Ronald D. Moore and explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended.
The third season moved into the early 1990s with a race to Mars not only for the U.S. and the Soviet Union, but also an unexpected new entrant. Joel Kinnaman, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, Sonya Walger, Krys Marshall, Cynthy Wu, Casey Johnson, Coral Pena, Wrenn Schmidt and Edi Gathegi star.
