Universal Pictures, FX

Father-and-son, Kurt and Wyatt Russell, have been cast in the “Godzilla” series for Apple TV+ and Legendary Television. This marks their first time sharing the screen since “Soldier” in 1998.

Set in the world of Legendary’s four-film (so far) Monsterverse franchise, they join a cast that also includes Pachinko star Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski

The show is set in the aftermath of the battle between Godzilla and the Titans that decimated San Francisco. A family sets out on a journey to uncover the creature’s buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.

Details on all roles are being kept under wraps. Chris Black (“Outcast”) and Matt Fraction (“Hawkeye”) co-created the series, with Black serving as showrunner. Matt Shakman (“WandaVisio”n”) is set to direct the first two episodes.
